Pioneer Press letter's page: the News is a Dialogue

Also from today's Pioneer Press this is interesting: soliciting letters, comments, response from readers. A little toe into the water of an interactive media, testing the temperature.

"In an effort to further encourage debate, we're going to be asking you to write in and opine about specific questions that we think are important to the region. Some of them will be very serious issues, like taxes, spending and the debate over regional transportation. Others will be more lighthearted."

This is a great step in the right direction, not to be scoffed at for its size. The change from lecture to dialogue is an distinction lost on some big names in the thunder-lizard media. The Press is asking its readers to be active participants, to join in the dialogue, and the fun. I'm in. Nice shootin' Mark.
