The inimitable Mr. Hewitt has been trying to pin down LA Times columnist Jonathan Chait the past 30 minutes, "Are you angry with President Bush?" When Hugh cross examines a reluctant guest, I'm reminded ofthe cliche about the teaching a pig to sing, it just frustrates you and the pig gets angry. I think Chait is playing the role of the pig ; he's slippery.
On to the New Theory. Ask a liberal how he feels, and he's as likely to tell you, "I don't know. Let me think about it." And not see the irony.
