Hindsight regarding Hitler. Often we've heard it said, "it was all there, in Mein Kampf. He told us exactly what his intentions were". Did contemporaries dismiss his words as senseless ravings? Are contemporaries now wishing the same about Mr. Almondhead, president of Iran? Was the exact moment to stop Herr Hitler, the movement of German troops into the Rhineland, seen as clearly at the time as we believe we see it now, seventy years later? I do not think there will be a clear "this is it" moment to stop Iran's slouch towards a pitiless nuclear nightmare. They mean what they say. If the United States does not step up to the breach, who can? The choices are bad now, worse later.
